Duck Volunteer Fire Department to Host Fire Prevention Open House

Duck, NC – The Duck Volunteer Fire Department will hold an Open House on Tuesday, October 11, 2011 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in celebration of National Fire Prevention Week. Come on out and see the fire equipment, tour the station and meet the volunteer firefighters for the Town of Duck. Watch fire extinguisher demonstrations and more, while enjoying light refreshments.

Flu shots (for adults) and flu mists (for children) will be available on a first-come, first-serve basis. Cost for adult flu vaccine is $32, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Medicaid, and Medicare accepted. Limited amounts of inhaled flu vaccine for children under 18 will be available at no cost.

The Duck Volunteer Fire Department is always looking for individuals who are willing to serve the Town as volunteer firefighters.  If you are interested in joining the Duck Fire Department there will be an informational presentation at 7:00 p.m.
