The Town of Duck is seeking two qualified and energetic individuals to fill the positions of Fire Lieutenants with the Duck Volunteer Fire Department (DVFD). The DVFD is a combination department responsible for fire protection in the Town of Duck. This unique tourist area has a year- round population of 525 and a seasonal population exceeding 20,000. The Lieutenants will be assigned to shift work and must be prepared to respond to fire and emergency calls for service, work varied shifts with limited supervision, as well as perform a variety of intermediate administrative and professional duties. A minimum of a high school diploma or GED with significant experience in fire science, fire tactics, and emergency response required. Must possess and maintain valid certifications as North Carolina Firefighter Level II and North Carolina Emergency Medical Technician-Basic or obtain through reciprocity. NIMS 100, 200, 700, and 800 training required. Must meet and maintain all departmental requirements for the position. North Carolina Level II Instructor, a minimum of (3) years supervisory experience, and NFA Incident Command training preferred.
