Public Notice: Town Council to Consider Two Items on June 6, 2012

On Wednesday, June 6, 2012 at 7:00 p.m., the Town Council of the Town of Duck will consider the following items:

Ord. 12-01                  A public hearing will be held on Ordinance 12-01 – an amendment to Town Code Sections 150.05 Flood Damage Prevention, Definitions and 156.002 Zoning, Definitions.  The purpose of the amendment is to provide consistency with the 2012 changes to the North Carolina Building Code instituting a requirement for new or substantially improved structures to be elevated one-foot above the minimum base flood elevation in all Special Flood Hazard Areas.  The Town would also amend its existing building height regulations adjusting the measurement of building height to match the new requirement.

Ord. 12-02                  The Town Council will consider Ordinance 12-02 – an amendment to Chapter 110 of the Town Code related to Peddlers and Itinerant Merchants.  This ordinance would prohibit peddling within the Town and would limit vendors and itinerant merchants to approved special events.

Any person may appear or be represented by an agent to present comments on these items.  Written comments may be submitted to the Town Council, Town of Duck, P.O. Box 8369, 1200 Duck Road, Duck, North Carolina 27949 or via e-mail at  Staff reports will be available approximately five days in advance of the meeting; contact the Town Clerk at the mailing address above or at (252) 255-1234.
