MINUTES
November 14,

The Community Improvement
Committee for the Town of Duck convened at the Duck Municipal Offices at 9:00
a.m. on Tuesday, November 14, 2006.
MEMBERS
PRESENT: Chairwoman Lisa Mann and Member Allen Lehew.
OTHERS PRESENT:
Public Relations/Special Events Coordinator Kathy McCullough-Testa.
ABSENT:
Member George Grinnan
OLD BUSINESS
- The committee was updated on
the community dark sky lighting project. Council approved the project at
its Wednesday, November 1, 2006 and 98 pairs of floodlight cover shields at a
cost of approximately $1800 have been ordered. One set of floodlight cover
shields will be offered to Duck property owners/residents free of charge from
1 – 3 p.m. on Saturday, November 25, 2006 as part of a demonstration
project. Any floodlight covers ordered/purchased after November 25, 2006
will be offered at $20 per set.
NEW BUSINESS
- A Village Improvement Program
Grant was unanimously awarded to BD&A Construction in the amount of
$2,500; total project cost was estimated at $8875.00.
- A Village Improvement Program
Grant was unanimously awarded to Red Sky Cafe in the amount of $2,500; total
project cost was estimated at $5087.00.
- A Village Improvement Program
Grant was unanimously awarded to Duck Village Outfitters in the amount of
$2,500; total project cost was estimated at over $200,000.
