The residential awards were presented to:

·         Patricia Scarlett, 102 Mallard Drive;

·         Terry and John Rose, 122 Mallard Drive;

·         Cathy Herron, 106 Oyster Catcher Lane.

The best neighborhood association fall display awards were presented to:

·         Port Trinitie Condominiums/Homeowners Association;

·         Caffey’s Inlet Hamlet Owners Association.

The award for the best commercially decorated property was awarded to Duck Deli.

The Community Appearance Awards program is administered by the Town’s Community Improvement Committee (CIC) and includes two separate award programs.  The first is the Seasonal Community Appearance Award presented during various times throughout the year.  The next seasonal award for best holiday display in the Town of Duck is scheduled to be awarded during the month of December.

The second award program administered by the CIC is the Annual Community Appearance Award honoring those who are helping to preserve the town’s unique character.  These awards will be given in the spring of 2006 at an awards ceremony during a regular Town Council meeting.

Nominations for both programs, Best Seasonal Display and the Annual Community Appearance Award, can be made by any town resident or business person at anytime throughout the year.  Nomination forms are available at the Town of Duck Office in the Waterfront Shops at 1240 Duck Road; on the Town of Duck web site at http://www.townofduck.com/; and soon to be at various businesses throughout the town.  Questions can also be answered by calling the Town of Duck Office at 252-255-1234.

The CIC was created by the Duck Town Council on February 2, 2005 to preserve the Town’s unique character for present and future generations.  Current Town of Duck CIC members are:  Allen Lehew, Duck’s Cottage; Lisa Mann, Beach Essentials; and George Grinnan, Resident.
