TOWN OF DUCK NAMES IT FIRST ANNUAL
COMMUNITY APPEARANCE AWARD WINNERS
Duck, NC - On Wednesday, May 24, 2006, the Town of Duck presented its first annual Community Appearance Awards. The awards are designed to recognize homeowners, community associations, and business owners in their efforts to enhance, improve, and beautify the Town of Duck through outstanding building, landscaping, or site design.
Mayor Neil Morrison and Community Improvement Committee (CIC) Chairperson Lisa Mann presented the recipients of the Town of Duck’s 2006 Annual Community Appearance Awards with certificates at a meeting of the Duck Town Council on Wednesday, May 24, 2006.
Commercial property awards were presented to:
· Winner: Scarborough Lane Shoppes represented by Bill Berger, President of Larrymore Organization, and Brian Staub, Director of Property Management for the Larrymore Organization;
· Honorable Mention: Sound Feet Shoes & Ocean Atlantic Rentals Shopping Center represented by Bennie Hopkins and Greg Honeycutt;
· Honorable Mention: The Waterfront Shops represented by James Braithwaite.
Residential awards were presented to:
· Winner: Dewey and Mary Hobbs, 101 Plover Lane;
· Honorable Mention: The Astons, 103 Bias Lane West.
Homeowner’s Association awards were presented as follows:
· Winner: Caffey’s Inlet Hamlet Owners Association, represented by Phyllis Drewyer and John Fricker;
· Honorable Mention: Ships Watch Association represented by Lyman Futrell.
